Dolce & Gabbana New Frangrance: The One Gentleman


In conjunction with celebrating the 20th anniversary of their men’s wear line, Dolce & Gabbana has opted to put out a new men’s fragrance designed to capture the true essence of the modern sophisticated and stylish man. The One Gentleman is a robust fragrance with top notes of pepper blended with hints of lavender, cardamom, fennel all leading to a tail end of patchouli and vanilla. “We didn’t specify the ingredients, rather the sensation we wanted to create,” said Gabbana. “We asked the noses to re-create the feeling of elegance, an emotion that didn’t exist in our male fragrance collection.”

Gabbana expressed, “I think today’s definition of a gentleman is someone who takes care of himself and of the people around him. A father who looks after his children is a gentleman.” He went on to say, “it’s a much wider concept, not only restricted to a man who lives in a villa with servants. I think a surfer can be a gentleman, too.” Developed under the Procter and Gamble umbrella, The One Gentleman is set to be available in three different size offerings: $42 for 30 ml., $57 for 50 ml. and $73 for 100 ml. In addition, the new fragrance will offer an aftershave lotion for $48; an aftershave balm for $38; a shower gel for $32, and the always-questionable deodorant stick for $25.
Setting their hopes high on a successful launch in September of 2010, Dolce & Gabbana has solicited the services of Matthew McConaughey to be the face and front man of The One Gentleman. McConaughey was also the face of the brands 2008 fragrance The One for Men. Unquestionably, between the full array of products being offered and the continued support of megastar Matthew McConaughey, Dolce & Gabbana believes in the potential for The One Gentleman to be a huge success. With so many fragrances popping up, it’s still nice to see one of the classics put out a new scent; now lets see if the rest of the world agrees.
